Hello, I am currently using the new macbook (2015) and attaching external Apple external keyboard Model A1243 with USB 2 port. Is it drawing power from my mac as it surely didn't last for 10 hours as it supposed to. Or is it the time for me to check my macbook? Thank you for helping.

Do you have just the keyboard plugged in alone or are you using the USB as well? I use the same keyboard on my Mac Mini (late 2012). When I try to use the USB in Boot Camp, Windows tells me it's drawing too much power. When I plugged in the keyboard to my wife's Mac Book Pro ( no Boot Camp), I had better results using my USB Keyboard with her charger plugged up.

YEs, USB keyboards draw power thru the USB connection,
Dont ont use the external keyboard and see if it makes a significant difference.
