Q: Calendar: right date wrong day

I upgraded my Apple Watch to watchOS 2 last week. I have noticed that the Calendar app now shows the correct date but the wrong day on the month view, as per the first attached screenshot. For example, 8th October is a Thursday, but the Apple Watch is showing it as a Wednesday! The date and day show correctly on the Home screen (second screenshot).

The dates and days show correctly on my iPhone 5S, which my Apple Watch us paired with. Date specific alarms, appointments and reminders all function correctly on both devices.

I suspect the issue may be related to the "Start Week On" Calendar setting on my iPhone. I have the week set to start on Mondays, and this works correctly on the iPhone. This setting doesn't appear to have carried over to my Apple Watch - as per the screenshot, each week is shown as starting on Sundays in the month view.
