Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I prefer to use Airmail 2.5 as my email client. I've gone into mail.app numerous times to change my default email reader to Airmail 2.5
I select it. I quit mail.app - and then I relaunch mail.app, and lo and behold, the default email reader is showing once again as mail.app
Any ideas on what's going on or how to make mail.app remember my preference here?

Although the problem is not the same, please follow the instructions in this support article to reset the Launch Services database. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before proceeding. You may have to log out or restart to see a change.

I had this problem. What appears to have worked is to go into the mail.app preferences, as the post suggests. Instead of picking airmail from the dropdown, choose Other. Go into the applications folder and choose the airmail.app there.
Tried that method already. No dice!

Default mail app keeps reverting to mail.app
