Ipad 4 update to iOS9 - Resetting itself every 2 minutes

I recently tried to update my iPad to iOS9 - unfortunately this has resulted in the iPad resetting itself every 2 minutes.

Took it to the Apple store today where they attempted a full restore, but wouldn't progress past the loading bar. Now when I turn it on I just get stuck at the "Connect to iTunes" page.

Basically, upgrading to iOS9 turned a perfectly fine iPad into a shiny paperweight. Word of caution 😟

iPad, iOS 9.0.2

Hi! Try the DFU mode:

  • Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds
  • Press the Home button while holding the Power button and hold both for 10 seconds.
  • Release the Power button, but KEEP HOLDING the Home button.
  • After about 15 seconds, iTunes will tell you it has detected a device in Recovery Mode.
  • Restore your device

If these steps don't work, contact Apple and ask for help.

Thanks Cohen - unfortunately this is the process we did in the Apple Store - it simply reaches a full progress bar during the restore then doesn't do anything further.

They've told me in store it's likely a hardware issue, and since it's over 12 months since purchase they're not liable. They offered me the option to buy a new iPad.
