Unable to use a selfie stick to take pics

I have the iphone 6 S plus and tried use the explorer pro selfie stick I had and was unable to take any pics. So I bought another one Volsey VS1 bluetooth selfie stick and am still unable to take any pics. The blue tooth settings show it to be connected. Also I tried the unpairing and pairing again, tried switch blue tooth off and on, Shutting down the phone, restarting, repairing - nothing works!! Is there any solution to this?
