Get out of the Cloud

I have attempted different methods to cease using the iCloud by checking/unchecking boxes and exiting iCloud. Each time I lose the data (Contacts, Calendar, Notes...) on my computer. How do I quit the iCloud and keep all data on my computer. I am a simple person and just want the little data I have to stay and be maintained on my computer not the CLOUD. This is very frustrating. And this "Keychain" thing is driving me crazy. I just want out of the CLOUD.
