Change keyboard layout for all applications

This is not how it is supposed to work.

The way to change keyboard layouts remains the same as it has always been. For easy access, you can have the keyboard choice appear in the Menu Bar (see image below). To make it appear just go to system preferences->Keyboard->Input Sources and check the box that says "Show Input menu in menu bar".

When I change it, it changes everywhere.

Look at the bottom of System Preferences->Keyboard->Input Sources and see if you can find the answer (hint! hint! hint!) 😁
