Q: I use os x 10.6 and the system might be infected by viruses/malware. all processes run slowly. do you have any recommendation what kind of removal tool that should be downloaded? Most of them only provided for the latest version

I use os x 10.6.8 and the system might be infected by viruses/malware. all processes run slowly even I just opened finder or folder. do you have any recommendation what kind of removal tool that should be downloaded? Seems like most of them only provided for the latest version (os x 10.7 or above). thanks

    Viruses/malware are unlikely to be the cause (it sounds like you have been reading web sites about this and of course they always refer to computers running Windows). More likely you have an over-full hard drive.  How much free hard drive space do you have?  How much RAM do you have?  Are you running a lot of software that is designed for newer computers?
