I am having trouble in synching my iPhone with iTunes and the error message is device disconnected even if when its connected via the usb cable

I am having trouble in synching my iPhone with iTunes in iMac. the error message that is showing is "the phone disconnected" even if the phone is connected via usb. The only ones synching are my apps, music and movies but my data including photos are not.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.0.2, synching with iMac 2013
