How do I find release date for MacBook Pro?

I have a MacBook Pro that I'm selling and they have asked what the release date is. I've looked under "About this Mac" but it doesn't give me any dates.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

If you are running el Capitan on it, it should show a date in parenthesis next to its name.

i.e

MacBook Pro (Mid 20xx) or (Late 20xx)


Otherwise, you can use the model identifier by clicking the System Report button:
