Created new iphone contacts and calendar events, will not sync to GMAIL. It will sync from GMAIL to iPhone...IOS 9.0.2

I have created some new contacts in iPhone 6S. They will not sync up with GMAIL. Neither will calendar events created on iPhone. I have tried everything. I have a cardav account set up as well for contacts. I have soft reset phone, I have reset network settings...iPhone to GMAIl is a no go...GMAIL to iPhone works fine...please help
