El Capitan buggier than a Roach Motel!

I upgraded to El Capitan and MAN IS THIS THING BUGGY ... reminds me of the Microsoft days when they just cranked out updates, anyhow since the update WHICH I NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL, here is a list of issues I am having of which Apple Support is aware but has not corrected yet:

  • Cannot back up my iPhone6 or my iPad2 to my iCloud account,
  • There is NO SECURE TRASH REMOVAL option available,
  • NOTES cannot be sorted like they used to be, alphabetical, in the past,
  • SPOTLIGHT SEARCH does not work,
  • iTunes will not share my iTunes Library to my AppleTVs,
  • SEARCH feature in NOTES does not work either,

I think that is about it ... Is anyone else experiencing the same issues?

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

iCloud backups from iDevices is iOS/not OS X related

What do you mean by does not work? It works overtime I have used it.

....

iTunes will not share my iTunes Library to my AppleTVs,

...

iTunes not OS X issue.

The secure delete seems to have disappeared, even though it says it is still there in Mac Help

on an El Capitan install.

Can't comment on Notes since I never use it.

I personally have installed on 4 Macs from a 2010 Mini to a late 2013 27" iMac and have had no issues what so ever.

HAVE YOU reported THE BUGS?

You may say that iCloud backup is an iOS issue, BUT ever since I upgraded to iOS 9.0.2 and Mac OC 10.11 it no longer works, at all ... ?

Literally, Spotlight Search DOES NOT WORK ... i.e., I have an app let's just call ABC and when I clicked Spotlight Search and entered ' ABC ' it could not find it, at all ... ?

Again, with iTunes BEFORE El Crapitan 10.11 IT ALL WORKED PERFECTLY, now ... NOTHING ... ?

Secure Delete - NOT in Finder > Secure Delete AND not in Finder > Preferences > ALWAYS USE SECURE DELETE - IS NOT THERE, NOTHING ... ?

I have my Utils, run my Disk Repair (First Aid) and restarted in SafeMode, all useless ... same issues, this machine is a November 2012 MacBook PRO and my 2013 iMac27 has EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEMS ... BUGGIER THAN A ROACH MOTEL ... feels like Microsoft all over again 😟

Odd, on my Macs which are a MB Air (2014), Mac Mini (2012) & iMac (2011) all of these things work perfectly with the exception of Secure Trash Removal which has been removed as it is no longer necessary. .

Wow. Did you make those statements up? Oh no, sorry, I see you stole one off the original poster and the other one is the oldest attempt at offending Apple users that there is.

Anyway, you are wrong. Whatever your point was that was lost in the babbling.

There is NO SECURE TRASH REMOVAL option availab

That's correct and it'a not a bug but a feature that was eliminated because, with SSDs it's not needed. If you need to delete a file and get the message

User uploaded file

open the Trash bin, select the file(s) and use the key combination of Option+Command+Delete

or Control (right) - click on the file and select Delete Immediately.. from the contextual menu

User uploaded file

to empty the bin.

You can use the Option+Command+Delete key combination from anywhere on the Desktop to send the file to the Trash and empty the Trash immediately.

SPOTLIGHT SEARCH does not work

Reindex the hard drive according to this Apple document: Spotlight: How to re-index folders or volumes - Apple Support

As for your other problems have you searched the various communities for others who have had the same problem and see what fixes were suggested for them? If you haven't then you should do so before coming back and ranting here.

Old Toad,

Not only did I, I then checked with support and their answer was that iOS9 may have been put out too early and early releases ALWAYS HAVE ISSUES, furthermore my issues with iOS9 and Mac OS 10.11 may have 'collided' together and created another issue which they multiple notes on and are working on them to resolve.

BTW - if I want to RANT I will just that, if you want HELP please feel free to add something useful, otherwise SHUT UP and mind your own business.

Actually ranting is a violation to the Terms of Use you agreed to. The paragraph I am referring to says:

Post constructive comments and questions. Unless otherwise noted, your Submission should either be a technical support question or a technical support answer. Constructive feedback about product features is welcome as well. If your Submission contains the phrase "I'm sorry for the rant, but…" you are likely in violation of this policy.

It also says:

Be polite. Everyone should feel comfortable reading Submissions and participating in discussions. Apple will not tolerate flames or other inappropriate statements, material, or links. Most often, a "flame" is simply a statement that is taunting and thus arbitrarily inflammatory. However, this also includes those which are libelous, defamatory, indecent, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, objectionable, discriminatory, abusive, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or offensive in a sexual, racial, cultural, or ethnic context.
