I have two mac pros, one with 10.6.8 and the other with 10.7.5 and need to link them

It need to link these two, one to run a high end scanner not supported by 10.7.5. Is there a way to see both together so I can scan, transfer the file, and then work on the file on the other system, without having to change over the monitor and copy the files on to a drive?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Use File Sharing and screen sharing.

With screen sharing you log into the other computer and see its screen on your computer. You use your mouse and KB like it the computer had its own monitor.

Only problem is there is lag unless y have a fast network. Ethernet connection is best. The 5G Hz n band is good to. A 2.4 GHz band is laggy.

The AC band is best but yur Macs do not support those natively.
