Issue with new Time Capsule 5GHZ AC

I just bought a new TC to get the 5ghz AC. The old TC was from 2010. When I installed it I wanted to choose my own channel due to lot's other networks in the area but it doesn't show using an app called WIFI explorer. The 2.4 GHZ shows up and the old TC showed both 2.4 and 5 . I have an another router which pops up like it suppose to do. Is the 5ghz broken or is it a set up issue?

Simply give the 5ghz a different name. I do find the 5ghz on the AC models is sometimes hidden.

If you still have issues.. what are you using wifi explorer on??

You will do better running the apple wireless diagnostics.

Use Wireless Diagnostics to help you resolve Wi-Fi issues on your Mac - Apple Support

But it need to be a reasonably recent computer.
