macbook pro screen separating from it's casing

I have a 15-inch MacBook Pro from mid 2009, model A1286, and the screen is separating from it's casing in the bottom left corner if it is open facing you. It separates from the casing when I open it, but I can press it back in place when the laptop is closed and it almost goes back to normal [here](http://imgur.com/gallery/kiJ0s) . There doesn't appear to be any impact on performance. I took it to a local apple store and was told that I would need to replace the screen, which would cost between $300 and $500 from an authorized service provider since they don't carry the parts for a laptop that old. Honestly, I'm not in a position where I can justify/afford to spend that on a laptop that's 6 years old and is still working fine. Any help would be appreciated. I also created a thread on the applehelp subreddit [found here](https://www.reddit.com/r/applehelp/comments/3nt0tz/macbook_pro_screen_separating _from_casing/). No disrespect to the person who suggested using epoxy but I'd like to get the second opinion of someone who knows more about laptops just in case there's an obvious reason for why I shouldn't use it. You can't be too careful, right?
