Safari bookmarks shortcut El Capitan

Before an update to El Capitan, in Safari, cmd + "number" activated a corresponding bookmark from my favourites bar. Now it brings to the front a corresponding already opened tab. I am wondering if there is a different shortcut that is now being used to open a corresponding bookmark from the favourites bar.

Thanks,

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

Thing is in my config, having the box you say checked I can switch tabs using Cmd-& through Cmd-ç (AZERTY keyboard set to French, wide Apple keyboard, so let's say numbers on the top).

To opening a bookmark of mine, typing Alt-Cmd-1 through Alt-Cmd-9 (numbers on the right part of the keyboard) would sometimes do the trick. I noticed that when it does not work, just clicking on the Bookmarks menu somehow enables it again. HTH.
