Forgot admin password

Hello- i have an older Mac Mini with 10.6 Snow Leopard and i bought an online software update to 10.7. i am trying to load Lion, but it keeps asking me for the password. i haven't used this machine for five years and have no idea what the password is. is there a way to add another account or find out what that old password is?
