How do you fix a Mac book pro after installing the new software, but it won't log on? I can not get to my desktop

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

You problem appears to be happening early in the boot-up process. Launchd (the thing that launches everything else) fails to load.


You probably have a corrupt image of Mac OS X, and will likely need to re-install Mac OS X (right over the version you are running now).

You can do this by holding command-R at startup, and choosing re-install Mac OS X as an option.


This could possibly be caused by a memory failure.
