iTunes Match is stuck in initial matching process?

Trying to sync my library with iTunes Match, it seems as though most of the songs have been sync'd as I can access most or all from other devices. However, in iTunes, it still shows that it is matching my music and seems to be stuck in the same spot (prob 90% or more completed!) and has been that way for hours. I've rebooted, restarted iTunes and it still just chugs along at the same progress for hours on end. Also, my album artwork is not syncing across devices. Is this related to the iTunes matching not being completed?

I am using Mac OS X 10.9.5 and iTunes 12.3.

How do I get iTunes Match to finish matching the music and how do I get my artwork to transfer along with it?
