Making calls can't hear out of earpiece

I have an iPhone 5c. When making calls, I can't hear out of my earpiece. I can play games and hear sounds just fine, but when making calls- they can't hear me unless I use the speakerphone. When listening to voicemails I have to turn on the speaker to hear them. Anyone know whats going on. I use iOS 9.2 - this just started today.
