Q: iphone 4s backup is stuck on preparing to copy. can i stop the backup and unplug the phone without causing problems with my phone?

While backing up my iPhone 4s, it is stuck on preparing to copy. Can I stop the backup somehow and unplug my phone without causing problems with my phone?

iPhone 4S, iOS 8.4.1

Yes, go ahead. Before trying another backup, restart iTunes and reset the iPhone.

 

Reset your iPhone by holding down the Wake/Sleep and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
