iOS 9 has bricked my iPad

My iPad has been bricked by iOS 9. Where do I go from here? iTunes does not recognize it. I can't turn it off normally. It's just sitting here with a white Apple logo on a black screen. Any suggestions appreciated.

Have you tried holding the home & sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the screen goes black & the Apple logo appears, then let go & see if it will boot up normally.? It can take several minutes to boot up.

If that doesn't work follow the steps here:
