To unlock your phone, if eligible, YOU have to contact Sprint.
Sprint uses the CDMA protocol. There are very few places outside of USA that are compatible with it. AT&T and Verison iGSM protocol is much more popular in the rest of the world.

Some Sprint representatives are unfamiliar with iPhone unlocking and may try to give you an unlock code or tell to to contact Apple. iPhones don't use unlock codes. Sprint has to send the unlock request to Apple. This must be done by Sprint.
Once it is unlocked it will work with any GSM carrier.
