Iphone asks to be unlocked every time

Hello. I have had my old iPhone unlocked and transferred it to my daughter. However, although the phone is working fine, it asks for the code to unlock it every time she switches it on. It then accepts the code and works normally.

Is there a reason why the phone would not have been unlocked properly? I bought my phone in the UK but have transferred it for my daughter in France.

If the SIM PIN is enabled it is supposed to ask each time the phone is turned on or the SIM is moved to another phone (or iOS is updated). It's a security feature. Without it, if the phone is stolen the thief could use the SIM in another phone and run up a large bill before she gets the carrier to disable the SIM. Why does she keep switching the phone off?

If you don't want to use a PIN for the SIM you can turn it off:

Settings > Phone > SIM PIN > OFF
