If that doesn't work, try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

Oct 9, 2015 11:43 AM in response to nellydeeby Lexiepex,It is a bug. I have it only in imap mail accounts. Just wait with deleting, say 10-20 minutes. Several Mail bugs are already solved, maybe this one in the next update.
