Q: Unable to sign in with Apple ID after upgrading to El Capitan
Hi,
While on Yosemite, I changed my Apple ID from user@domain1.com to user@domain2.com. This worked fine, and I was able to sign in to the App Store without any issues.
I recently upgraded to El Capitan, and after that upgrade, I am no longer able to successfully sign into the App Store. When I use user@domain2.com the login appears to succeed, and then I receive a message that states "This item is temporarily unavailable" with "Try again later". I did, of course, try again later but nothing seemed to change.
I then signed in to appleid.apple.com without a problem, and attempted to change my ID again to something else to see if that would force some kind of reset. However, changing the IDs doesn't seem to make a difference, I always receive the error above.
It's worth noting that prior to the upgrade to El Capitan, the App Store pre-filled the ID field with user@domain2.com, however since the upgrade it pre-fills with user@domain1.com, and this is no longer valid (I also don't own domain1.com any more).
I have read other threads on this forum and most seem to suggest the rather painful process of reinstallation.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here? Am I destined to spend time reinstalling, or is there some other option that I can try first?
Many thanks for your time.
