Q: MacBook Air - Kernel Panic on El Capitan

Hello,

I have a MacBook Air 13 (early 2014) with OS X El Capitan.

 

Problem: Frequent Kernel Panics few seconds after the system wakes up from sleeping.

I suspect the Transcend JetdriveLite SD expansion card, and the related software JetDriveToolbox that automatically unmounts/mounts the SD card when the systems goes to sleep/ wakes up

 

Troubleshooting steps: when the JetdriveLite SD card is removed, the problem seems to disappear

I would say that you have defined your own problem.  The storage device appears to be the culprit.

 

I would urge you to rid the MBA of the Norton AV software.  A Mac does not need it and it may corrupt your system.  Go to the developers web site for uninstall instructions.

    Go through these troubleshooting steps in this link:

    These are possible software candidates for your kernel panic:

    Delete these items and see if the kernel panics stop.  Do not reinstall 'Little Snitch'.  It is not needed.
