I am seeking your advice: I am totally confused between Refurbished MacBook
pro July 2014 2.8 512 and March 2015 2.7 256. What would you buy if you were
me?? Note that I know the differences between both by heart, but I cannot decide. Also, I am new to
the Apple World.

What is the price difference?
Does the 2014 have discrete graphics or only the on-CPU chip graphics?
Are you using apps that cold make sue of the discrete GPU?
Do both have the same amount of RAM
I would lean to the 2015 since it has the Broadwell CPU with the better graphics.

Apple do not tell anything directly about discrete graphics, but they say that 2015 has:

I think that 2015 has discrete graphics and 2014 does not.
What applications can get benefit of discrete graphics???
they are both 8GB but 2015 is 8GB of 1866MHz LPDDR3 onboard memory and 2014 is 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L onboard memory
Photo and video editing typically can use the GPU for processing.
I would go with the 2015.
Don't you like the idea of having double storage for only 90 dollars more?
Not really. Just use an external drive when needed. Also, I can't readily tell if those Macs have and SD card slot you can use. SD card storage low but it works.
