Java install struck on verifying..

I have started to face this issue after upgrading to OS X ei Capitan. While attempting to open file in Adobe illustrator, It returned with error : require to install legacy java se 6 runtime
Further, after downloading it from Java for OS X 2015-001, appears to be struck at verifying screen with the vault icon after clicking javaforosx.pkg
Tried several troubleshooting steps like first aid through disk utlility, allow apps from everywhere, filevault not turned on but still in vain

Any help would be really appreciated
