iOS updates messing up my photos

After moving from iPhoto to the Photos app in Yosemite, I'm having issues where my albums are duplicated on my iOS devices every time I install an iOS update. The odd part is that if I wipe all of my photos off of my iOS devices and do a fresh sync in iTunes and manualy select the albums I wish to sync all goes well. Then after installing an iOS update and open up the photos app on my iOS devices, I not only see the albums I selected to sync but also a new folder called Events From my Mac which contains the albums in duplicate and then a third set of the same albums after that! This is so frustrating as I don't know if this is an iOS bug or iTunes.

Has anyone else seen this and found a fix?
