Cannot convert regions to EXS24

I'm runnning a late 2012 Macbook Pro Retina on EL Capitan with 8gb ram and 250gb SSD. In the latest version of logic I am not able to select regions and "convert to an EXS24" sampler. What should I do here? Has this option been removed or adjusted in some way?
