Am I being blocked?

I text my friend on his ipod. He downloaded one of those apps where it gives you a number and you can text ir call. Once i got an iphone. He sent me his email where i can text/facetime(audio) him through there. My question is...if he blocks me. Am i completly blocked? Or can i text him back on the app he downloaded?
