iPhone 6s+ screen for making a call

Just got my new 6s+ yesterday..... this morning I went to make a call and the screen for dialing is not clear and has my contact screen in the background. Very strange! I've turned the phone off and it is still there. It allows me to make calls.... no problem there. but I'd like a clear keypad screen! What do I do? HELP!!
