I do not want to purchase any more cloud storage. How do I get out of the yearly update and charge?

Trying to stop my automatic cloud storage upgrade every year. How do I do this?

You should be able to downgrade your storage plan and stop it auto-renewing again via Settings > iCloud > Storage > Change Storage Plan : iCloud storage upgrades and downgrades - Apple Support
