iPhone 5s texting fault

For some reason every so often the text message box is blank out with a dark grey box which has 00.00 in it. When this happens I can see what I am writing in the text box before I hope to send the text. I am having to reboot the phone every time this happens which is fustrating. Does anyone know how to correct this fault?
