Back-up iTunes library?

Back-up iTunes library?

I back up my computer with Time Machine. Do I need to back up my iTunes library separately to an external drive as well or is this being done via Tim Machine?

MacBook Pro, iOS 9.0.2

If you did not specifically exclude iTunes from backups in TM preferences, the backups include iTunes. You can confirm by invoking Time Machine while iTunes window is front-most.

As Rysz said, Time Machine backs it up. However, I would create a totally

separate backup as well. You would simply copy the entire iTunes folder

to an external drive. Digging out iTunes backups done in Time Machine

can be pretty time consuming.

which is what prompted me to question if I had to do this. I did not specifically exclude iTunes from TM back up so I presume it is working then.

Woodmeister - This sounds like a good suggestion. If I drag the the iTunes folder to my external hard drive, will it copy it to the external HD or transfer the whole thing? I only want to copy it. I am not super techy so appreciate the help confirming this.
