Waveforms missing and plugins not working correctly

Every time I record something, the waveforms don't appear. Recording delay is set to 0 and refreshing the overviews doesn't work either. Its not that they're just small, they're just not there; no matter how much I zoom in. I also noticed that my plugins aren't working correctly. My copy of the bias guitar plugin has worked perfectly up until this issue started. The tone isn't working properly and its very quiet as well. The audio I record still plays, despite there being no waveform, but as I said, the plugins aren't working correctly. If they were still working, I would be able to ignore the waveform problem but it appears they're somehow connected. Anyone experienced something similar or know how to fix it?
