Q: Cannot find Photos when uploading to FB

I am having a hard time uploading photos to FB & Kijiji from my photos.  I can see the photos in All my Photos as well the various folders/albums that I have created.  When I am in FB or Kijiji I go to select the photos so I see the folders/albums but the pictures are not there.  I have tried to even get them from All Photos but still not showing up.  I see the photos like I said in Photos, on my iPhone and my iPad but they don't show up to select.  Could someone please help out so I can upload photos.

MacBook, iOS 9.0.2

    Hello Biggzy007,

I understand that you are not seeing all your photos when uploading your pictures to Facebook and Kijiji. Let's see if we can figure out what is going on here.

Depending on your setup, it might be related to iCloud Photo library. If you have that turned on with Optimize Mac Storage enabled, it will only show the pictures that are fully downloaded. If that is the case, follow the steps outlined below to get them to permanently show up in the Media Browser

If Media Browser doesn't show your entire Photos library

If you want to make pictures in Photos permanently available in the Media Browser, follow these steps:

    1. Select File > New Album... from the Photos menu bar. Give the new album a name.
    2. Click on the pictures you want to make available in the Media Browser.
    3. Click the Add button.
    4. Click the Albums tab at the top of Photos and find the new album you created.
    5. Control-click (or right-click) the album and select Download Originals to this Mac.

This will download the full-resolution version of the pictures you selected to your Mac, making them permanently available in the Media Browser.

    Have a good day

    Hi there.

This did help - thank you.

Next question - do I need to have the Optimize Mac Storage enabled or can I use the download to Mac.  Any comments on this.

    Thanks

    Hey Biggzy007,

Keeping the Photos optimized is entirely up to you. It all depends on if you want to have the full resolution of the photos downloaded and stored on the computer. Using iCloud Photo Library, that full resolution is stored on iCloud. This feature is there jus to reduce the size on your computer. So if you haver plenty of space, then it may not be needed.

Let me know if that clears that up for you or if you have any other questions regarding iCloud Photo Library.
