SIM NOT VALID

The sim card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not

supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server.

This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone.

Please insert another SIM cardfrom a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked

be your carrier. Please contact apple for more information.

Your phone is locked to some cell provider, probably one in Canada. You can either call Apple and find out who the phone is locked to or call the seller and ask them. You would then have to find out what the cell provider's unlock policy is and see if you qualify. Personally I would return the iPhone to the seller and get your money back.
