Frozen app

My iphone 4s is frozen on the Google maps app, I can't turn the phone off it won't do anything, apple support want my serial number to help but my phones frozen! Any one got a suggestion?

Just press and hold the Power Button and the Home button at the same time, keep holding, when you see the white apple logo, let both go.

That should do it.

Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
