Battery Drain

I have an iPod 5 touch. iOS 9.0.2. I have 0 apps turned on, turned off all notifications for every app, and disable background app refresh, but my battery is still draining so fast.. It goes from 100% to 50% after a few seconds when its on standby after hours of charging. I checked the battery thingy in settings and it says my home screen is taking 99% of my battery while my pictures are taking 1%. This is getting annoying because I can't even use my ipod for 1hour without getting "20% left" message. I wish I could use low power mode, but for some reason apple thought iPod wouldn't need it.. Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem. I bought mine used, so maybe I need to replace the battery?? I agree...very annoying!!

% battery on an iPod is not accurate. You wills ee large fluctuations in % battery with load changes.

The test for battery capacity is to charge for at least 6 hours and see how long you can a video.. About 4-5 hours is the norm.

I'll charge it for 6hours and report back. Btw is it bad to keep my iPod plugged in for hours while I'm using it? Its like in the charger from 2pm-10pm/11pm/12am/1am then I unplug it when I'm sleeping which is usually only 3-4 hours maybe longer sometimes. Will that break the battery?

You can't over charge the iPod. When fully charged circuits prevent overcharging.

but I remember when I went to school I'd charge it overnight for 6+ hours and at school it wouldn't even last the entire day 9pm-3:30, and alI I used it for was checking imessage sometimes, maybe more.

Oh okay, thank god. Also does it matter if I used an iPad charger for my iPod? My iPod5 charger broke so I'm using my mom iPad charger. Apparently that's not good because the iPad charger has too much watts or something.

The iPad charger is fine. I use my iPad charger even for my little 7G iPod Nano
