Has the Mac Book Air (early 2015) optical audio output? I am trying to connect my audio system and it seems that does not work..

Nope. Analog audio only from the headset port. The MacBook Air product line never incorporated optical audio out.
You can also use HDMI if your audio system has it.
Other than those options, use AirPlay.
