"On My Device" music not updated

When I connect my iPhone 5s to iTunes and click on the "On My Device" tab, the music listed is all old and I wiped all of those songs from my phone. I tried logging off and back into iCloud but the old songs are still there. The files on my computer are also deleted, so I cannot listen to those songs either. I would like it if the "On My Device" is accurately displaying my phone's music.
