access priveleges

Hi, I'm trying to sync a home movie to my ipad and I'm receiving an error message that my ipad is not able to sync because I don't have access privileges for this operation. I have synced with ITunes before and never had this problem (first time with a movie, but now getting this message regardless. Help! Thank you.
