unable to connect to an activation server

Unable to do an initial activation.

I can choose language, country, connect to a wifi network.

The display indicates it may take 3 minutes to activate.

Then, it says my device cound not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. Try connecting your iPod touch to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple minutes.

it has been a couple days of trying, and i don't know how to connect to iTunes. I am not getting that option.

Try when connected to another network

Try:

- Powering off and then back on your router.

- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server

The above may apply to the activation server too

- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

Public DNS — Google Developers

OpenDNS IP Addresses

- Try on another computer/network
