I can't install Win7 on my bootcamp, but I can with Parallels. Don't understand why.

I can install a 64 bit version of Win7 on my 2007 iMac with Parallels, but not with Bootcamp. Don't understand why it won't let me do that. Does anybody know? I have 4 gb of ram.

Thank you.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 4 gb of ram

From Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support, BCAssistant only support W7 32-bit. Your CPU may be 64-bti, but not all your peripherals can support 64-bit.

Parallels creates a Virtual Machine and virtualizes all the drivers via emulation.
