Q: Windows 10 Bootcamp Driver Problem

Hello, I just installed Windows 10 by creating a partition with disk utility and then using a USB stick to install windows 10 so I haven't used boot camp to create the partition or to install windows.. Everything seemed fine until windows started, meaning the mouse & keyboard didn't work, I downloaded the drivers from bootcamp and installed them on the windows partition but still nothing is working.

I updated OSX Lion to El Capitan to get bootcamp 6 and get the windows 10 drivers but still, nothing is working. Something I've noticed is that on the windows partition when I click on the info for bootcamp it says Version 5.1 but I'm sure I've downloaded the drivers from Bootcamp 6.

After I downloaded the bootcamp 6 drivers I downgraded back to Lion because El Capitan was too problematic, so I can't even download the drivers again, is there a way to download them directly? Iv'e seen a way with Brigadier on some posts but I don't understand how it works.

Do the drivers from bootcamp work even if I didn't use bootcamp to install windows or create the partition with it?

Please help me!

I have an iMac 21,5" late 2012

It says: This version of Boot Camp can't be used with this computer model when I try to run the setup.

This expected behavior and correct. If you look at the log I posted for iMac13,1, it lists three distributions, and each distribution lists which Mac models it supports. Since brigadier chose the latest, it has

    Distribution 031-24514 supports the following models: MacBook8,1, MacBookAir5,1, MacBookAir5,2, MacBookAir6,1, MacBookAir6,2, MacBookAir7,1, MacBookAir7,2, MacBookPro9,1, MacBookPro9,2, MacBookPro11,1, MacBookPro11,2, MacBookPro11,3, MacBookPro11,4, MacBookPro11,5, MacBookPro12,1, MacPro6,1, Macmini6,1, Macmini6,2, Macmini7,1, iMac13,1, iMac13,2, iMac13,3, iMac14,1, iMac14,2, iMac14,3, iMac14,4, iMac15,1.

Your model iMac 12,1 does not exist in the list, so using setup.exe is not the correct method. You will have to pick and choose specific drivers and run individual executable files in the Drivers directory as necessary.

After I installed the drivers bluetooth was able to find the mouse but the keyboard still isn't working.

It's able to find the keyboard on bluetooth and it asks to write a passcode it displays but when I press the buttons it won't work.

After a few tries the keyboard got connected, same with the mouse.

Another quick question, with the drivers I installed before, is the graphics card & processor etc. updated?

Thank you so much for the help!!

Check the Display Adapter and make sure it shows your GPU correctly, and check the data and manufacturer. Processors usually do not have drivers. But controllers may have. You should verify with Device Manager.

It shows everything correctly, so is the graphics card updated? I tried to click "update software driver" on device manager and it says it's up to date.

If you did run the GPU update without any errors, you should be good. Check Audio drivers.

I Appreciate your response to OP and am wondering if these steps will assist me in getting sound working in Win10_1511 on my 2012 Mac Mini 2.5 i5 ELC using BCA 6.1

Your 2012 Mini is officially supported by Apple for Windows 10. Can you check Device Manager for any unknown devices (yellow triangle with exclamation mark)? Is your W10 installation an in-place upgrade from W7/W8+?

Thank you for responding so quickly. I will have to resume this conversation with you later this afternoon, as I am at work and the Mac is at home. Thanks again I look forward to your input.

Ok, I have gone through the above items, I have a iMac 27inch Late 2012.  I did the free upgrade from windows 7 ultimate to windows 10 pro.  I am downloading the file from brigadier at the moment.  What do I need to do from this point?
