How to bring back the old keyboard shortcuts for the favorites bar

I know that in Safari 9, the old ⌘1, ⌘2, etc. for accessing my bookmarks on the favorites bar were replaced by ⌘⌥1, ⌘⌥2, etc. However, I just don't get used to it. In fact, I hate it.

Is there a way of bringing back that old order and some peace of mind? I'd prefer to use ⌘⌥# to access my opened tabs rather than the bookmarks.

Go to Safari Preferences -> Tabs

Remove the checkmark beside "Use ⌘-1 through ⌘-9 to switch tabs"
