iPad 2 is disabled. Won't restore without turning Find my iPad off. How do I get around that?

MY son let a friend go on his his iPad but the boy kept getting the password incorrect. The iPad has been disabled for 3 weeks. I am trying to restore it but it won't let me until I go into iCloud and turn off the Find my iPad feature. How do I do that when I can't get on to the iPad?
