my ipad wont activate

i am trying to activate my iPad after restarting it and it is asking for my apple id. i have typed it in but my iPad wont accept it and keeps saying that it is the wrong id. it isn't and i don't know what else i can do. it was bought brand new and i am positive i have types the correct information in but it still wont activate. what can i do?
